Vote Like Your Wife Depends On It

Over the last few weeks, a flood of stories have come out about how the pandemic is forcing women out of the workforce. It’s been in The New Yorker, NPR, CNN, TIME Magazine, the Richmond Times-Dispatch, Smithsonian Magazine, NBC News, Bloomberg, and countless other outlets both local and national. CNN even called it “shocking.”

Have they not been paying attention? While yes, it’s something I’ve written about repeatedly, I’m far from the only person who has been trying to garner this issue some mainstream media attention. And contra CNN, if you're a woman, it’s probably less “shocking” than it is an incessant electric buzzing in the ears that nobody seems to hear but you. Amongst ourselves, women have been discussing this situation since lockdowns started in March.
