Women’s Quiet Catastrophe Demands Attention

As I write this, today is the last full day of the present administration. Our tumultuous transition of power over these last months has—justifiably, if not justly—consumed our news and headspace as the lies, accusations, conspiracy theories, and lawsuits piled up, right up until the Capitol siege. In those lost months, the pandemic raged on, claiming over 100,000 more lives as a pitiful election drama enraptured us, a desperate grasp for attention from the man who values nothing but adulation. December saw more COVID-19 deaths than we endured during the horrors of last spring; and it was barely a blip on our national radar.
